Tonight, the big match was won by Kings XI Punjab defeating Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets at the Holkar Stadium.Kings XI Punjab earned their sixth win of the match out of the nine matches they have played till now.
Before the match started, Rajasthan Royals were invited to bat first as KXIP won the toss and chose to bowl first.
In the first innings, The players of KXIP gave their best in fielding and bowling and didn’t let the players of Rajasthan Royals earn free runs. From the death bowling to extra-ordinary fielding, the team took wickets after wickets and not sparing a single run.
The first innings for Rajasthan Royals was opened by Joss Buttler who scored 51 runs in 39 balls, hitting 7 fours. Sanju Samson, the star player of KXIP scored 28 runs off 23 balls, he smashed 2 fours and 1 six.
Kings XI Punjab,brilliantly defended the runs and didn’t let the team score great. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, delivered death bowling and took 3 big wickets.
The players of Rajasthan Royals failed to contribute great numbers at the score board, stretching the totals to 152 runs.
The second innings was opened by the very talented KL Rahul who remained unbeaten till the end of the match, he gave a one devastating performance and scored 84 runs in 54 balls, smashing 7 fours and 3 sixes. He played very brilliantly, by soaking all the pressure in the last overs.
Talking about the other players, Chris Gayle failed to gave us ‘Gayle storm’ tonight and ended up scoring only 8 runs in 11 balls before he was sent back to pavilion after a stunning catch by Sanju Samson. Karun Nair scored 31 runs in 23 balls. Marcus Stoinis, remained unbeaten and scored 23 off 16 balls.
