Virender Sehwag Named Predicted The Winner Of IPL 2021: The wait will finally come to an end tonight, as the arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will lock horns with each other in the opening clash of phase-2 of the Indian Premier League 2021. The 2021 edition of the IPL was halted in May because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 within the bio-bubble, following which it had to be moved to the UAE.

Now after a four-month gap, the remaining games of IPL 2021 are slated to begin from Sunday with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai.

However, ahead of that former Indian cricketer and legendary batsman Virender Sehwag picked Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals as his two favorites to win the IPL.  Talking to PTI, Sehwag said:

“Since the second half has been shifted to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I think Delhi and Mumbai will again be favorites and the five-time champions are slightly ahead,”

While DC is currently sitting at the top of the points table with 12 points in 8 games, on the other hand, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are currently at No.4 in the points table.

Further, Sehwag reckoned that pitches in the UAE will be slower as compared to the ones in India and thus, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore might face problems. According to Sehwag, Chennai might take some more matches to settle down and get into the groove. He also named Mumbai Indians as the winners if he had to pick one team. He said:

“Chennai’s average score in India was 201 during the first phase but I think when it comes to UAE tracks, they would be lacking a bit in batting firepower. If I have to pick one team, that will be Mumbai.”
