Former Indian opener and batting legend Virender Sehwag is one of the cricketers who extended their support to the wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha after he made some explosive revelations regarding a journalist.

Wriddhiman Saha, who was recently dropped from the Test team, dropped a bombshell after he shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat in which a “respected” journalist threatened him for not giving him an interview.

In a series of Tweets, the out-of-favor wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha took to Twitter and revealed how a “respected journalist” approached him for an interview, however, after refusing an interview, the journalist started threatening him.

Though, Saha took a strong stand against the journalist by revealing the texts but he didn’t reveal the name of the journalist, and the same created an uproar among the fans.

On Tuesday, Saha once again talked about the intense matter. He took to his social media and revealed his decision to remain silent on the matter. Saha explained that his purpose was to expose the act on social media and not harm anyone’s career. He wrote:

“My nature isnt such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back,” he explained.

“I thank each and everyone who has shown support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude,” the Indian batter concluded.

1/3- I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name

Meanwhile, reacting to Saha’s statement, Virender Sehwag  also took to his social media and urged the veteran wicket-keeper to reveal the identity of the journalist who threatened him for the sake of other cricketers. He wrote:

“Dear Wriddhi, it’s not your nature to harm others and you are a wonderful guy. But to prevent such harm from happening to anyone else in the future, it’s important for you to name him. Gehri saans le, aur naam bol daal (Take a deep breath and reveal the name),”
