Virender Sehwag’s Tweet On Shane Warne Describes Every Cricket Lover’s Feelings

The cricket world was left shocked and heartbroken after the news of Shane Warne, one of cricket’s all-time greats, demise broke out on Friday evening. The legendary spinner has passed away of a suspected attack in Thailand. He was only 52 years of age.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers to have graced the game, Shane Warne had retired as Test cricket’s second-most prolific wicket-taker. He was named as one of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Century. During his career for Australia between 1992 and 2007, Shane Warne picked 708 wickets and was also a World Cup in 1999.

The news of his demise was confirmed by Warne’s management company in a brief statement released on Friday. The statement read:

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” The statement added: “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.

It is a great loss to the cricketing fraternity as the world lost one of the greater spin wizards. Social media has been flooded with reactions from shocked and heartbroken fans, who just can’t believe on the news of his sudden death.

Among many, former Indian cricketer and batting legend Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to express his emotions on the sudden and untimely demise of the Australian spin wizard. In his tweet, Sehwag paid heartfelt condolences to Warne and hailed his legacy. He wrote:

Cannot believe it. One of the greatest spinners, the man who made spin cool, superstar Shane Warne is no more. Life is very fragile, but this is very difficult to fathom. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans all around the world”
