7 Most Iconic Sponsors Of The Indian Cricket Team: Dream11, the fantasy gaming platform, is reportedly the new sponsor of the Indian cricket team’s jersey, replacing BYJU’s.
Yes, you read that right. As per a report by News18 CricketNext, the BCCI had floated a tender for sponsorship rights on June 14 and Dream11 has finally come on board. Though, BYJU’s had an optional deal in place with the BCCI until November but the ed-tech company decided to exit the contract in March.
Is Dream11 Team India’s New Sponsors?

It has to be noted, that since March, the men’s cricket team has been without a jersey sponsor and they even played the World Test Championship final at the London Oval without any sponsors.
On May 23rd, the BCCI and Adidas announced a brand-new partnership as the kit sponsor. The contract will run till March 2028 and this will give some exclusive rights to Adidas for manufacturing kits across all formats of the game. Adidas will be the sole supplier for all match, training & travel wear for the Indian men’s, women’s, and youth teams.
The Industry experts, who were tracking developments from close quarters have revealed that there was a lack of interest even after the lowered price.
Meanwhile, the deal with Dream 11 is being done in numbers less than what the BCCI was earning from BYJU. In the previous deal with BYJU, the ad-tech company was earning INR 5.5 crore for every bilateral fixture and the value dropped to INR 1.7 crore for an ICC game due to the positioning of the logo.
Before Byju’s, Wills and ITC were the official sponsors of the Indian cricket team jerseys for close to a decade in the 90s before Sahara came on board and remained their sponsors for the longest time. The Sahara group was led by Subrata Roy and the contract was between 2002 and 2013 before the monetization of cricket entered a very competitive space. Between 2014 and 2017, team India wore jerseys with STAR INDIA’s logo on them. Next, OPPO outbid Vivo for the 2017-2022 cycle
