Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman hailed young Indian batsman Shubman Gill after his heroic performance on day 5 of the ongoing fourth and final test match at the Gabba.

Young Indian opener Shubman Gill played yet another stylish innings when team India needed the most. The 21-year-old stylish opener missed his maiden Test century by just 9 runs on Tuesday. Shubman Gill was looking in the best of his form as he stirred India’s run-chase with a gutsy performance against Australia.

Gill, who made his Test debut in the second Test of the series in Melbourne Cricket ground, has turned out to be the highest run-scorer from India in the series. So far, he has played 6 innings of the 3 Tests and scored 259 runs including 2 half-centuries.

Resuming proceedings on Day 5, the Indian cricket team started the game with a shaky note as they lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma. However, Gill joined hands with India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara and took the game by storm. While, Pujara frustrated the Australians with his determined batting, on the other hand, Gill stirred India’s run-chase with a gutsy performance against Australia.

However, the amazing partnership came to an end after Gill was dismissed on 91 runs, where he smashed 8 fours and 2 sixes.
