Waqar Younis Is Getting Mercilessly Trolled For His Latest Tweet Ahead Of ‘IND vs PAK’ Clash

Waqar Younis is getting trolled badly on Twitter: The Pakistani cricket team suffered a huge blow, on Saturday, ahead of the much-awaited Asia Cup 2022, as their star pacer, Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the entire tournament and the subsequent T20I series against England because of a knee injury. Afridi has been a vital part of Pakistan’s T20I set-up and had played a crucial role in their run to the semi-finals in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

For the unversed, Afridi had suffered a right knee ligament injury during the 1st Test against Sri Lanka last month and since then he didn’t take the field. The 22-year-old pacer is currently with the Pakistan team in the Netherlands as part of the rehabilitation program. He has been “advised 4-6 weeks rest by the PCB Medical Advisory Committee”. PCB will soon name a replacement for Afridi in the squad.

Waqar tweeted for India’s top order after PCB released a statement saying that Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will be out of the Asia Cup due to an injury. In his Tweet, Waqar claimed that the news is a big relief for the Indian top-order batsmen. He wrote:

“Shaheen’s injury Big relief for the Indian top order batsmen. Sad we won’t be seeing him in #AsiaCup2022 Get fit soon Champ @iShaheenAfridi”

Jst like u were a big relief for India in ’96 and ’03 wc 🤔

If one player’s absence makes a team clueless then that team is a joke. We don’t complain when our players get injured and miss matches because we know we’ve other player’s who are waiting to perform. That’s why we always above Pakistan in rankings and in winning Trophies too.

After getting ruled out of Asia Cup 2022, Shaheen Afridi took to his social media and expressed his thoughts on the same. He also asked the fans to keep him in their prayers. He wrote:

“Every player of our playing 11 is a match winner. Wishing my team the best of luck for upcoming Asia Cup. To the fans, keep me in your prayers for my quick recovery. I’ll be back soon Inshallah”
