Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is hailed as one of the greatest cricketing minds in the world. He took the Indian cricket team to the number one position under his leadership, having won 2 Asia Cups, an ICC Champions Trophy, an ICC T20 World Cup, and the prestigious 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Dhoni is also the second richest cricketer in the world right now, with a net worth of  INR 767 crores. Though he has now retired from the international arena, but he is still one of the preferred choices for brand endorsement in the country.

However, not many are aware of the fact that MS Dhoni wanted to leave cricket after making 30 lakhs. Yes, you read that right.

Well, last year, in an interview, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer had revealed that MS Dhoni wanted to earn only Rs 30 lakhs and live peacefully at his home town Ranchi.

Wasim Jaffer and Dhoni had shared the dressing room earlier in their careers. Last year, while replying to a fan on his Twitter handle, Jaffer revealed that MS Dhoni had told him that he wants to earn just 30 lakhs so that he can live peacefully for the rest of his life in Ranchi. He revealed:

“In his 1st or 2nd year in Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi,”

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni was last seen playing for Chennai Super Kings last month in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, which was suspended mid-way because of the outbreak of the coronavirus within the bio-bubble. The second phase of the IPL 2021 is expected to be hosted in the UAE in the September-October window.
