Wasim Jaffer Told Sri Lankan Cricket Team In The Most Funny Way

Wasim Jaffer Told Sri Lankan Cricket Team In The Most Funny Way: The Sri Lankan cricket team is making a lot of news these days, however, for all the wrong reasons. The team recently suffered a heavy defeat against England in an away series, losing the T20Is 0-3, before conceding the ODIs 0-2.

Now, ahead of the much-awaited limited-overs series against India, Sri Lanka had made another captaincy change. Kusal Perera, who is the captain of the limited-overs side of Sri Lanka but he will miss the series against India due to disciplinary issues on the England tour. He will be replaced by all-rounder Dasun Shanaka for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against India.

This isn’t the first time that Sri Lanka has made a captaincy change, in fact, frequent leadership changes are emblematic of Sri Lanka’s inconsistent returns across all the formats of the game.  Dasun will be Sri Lanka’s 10th ODI captain since 2017.

Earlier, Upul Tharanga, Angelo Mathews, Chamara Kapugedara, Lasith Malinga, Thisara Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Dimuth Karunaratne, Lahiru Thirimanne, and Kusal Perera have led the Sri Lankan cricket team at some point in the duration.

Meanwhile, after the news of Dasun taking the role of skipper came out, Wasim Jaffer came up with a hilarious reaction to it. The former Indian player, known for his comedic and witty instincts, wrote:

“Yaar itne to ladke dp nahi badalte jitne SL ne captain badle hai,”

(which roughly translates to: Boys do not change their DPs as frequently as Sri Lanka changes captains)

Meanwhile, the first ODI match between India and Sri Lanka will take place on July 18th. The Indian cricket team will be led by Shikhar Dhawan with his deputy Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
