Wasim Jaffer Trolled Zak Crawley For Blaming Third Umpire: England and India are currently locking their horns against each other in the ongoing pink-ball Test of the four-match Test series at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Virat Kohli-led side successfully dominated the game from the word go. The first innings saw England getting bowled out after scoring a total of 112 runs only.

Amidst all the thrilling performances, one of the major highlights of Day 1 was Ben Stokes claiming the catch of Shubman Gill, while standing in the second slip.

Stokes who was positioned at the slip cordon made a good effort to claim the ball. However, the umpires were not convinced and decided to go for the third umpire. The replays showed that the ball touched the ground before Stokes claimed it. As a result, the umpire gave his decision in Shubman Gill’s favor.

However, Stokes and his teammates were not happy with the decision as they claimed that the catch  was ‘clean and safe’. Stokes and his teammates were not convinced with the decision as the skipper Joe Root was seen complaining to the umpire.

After the game on day 1, England’s opening batsman Zak Crawley echoed the same sentiments during a virtual press conference. Zak termed both the incidents as frustrating and accused the umpire for the decision. He said:

“Yes, it was very frustrating as we were behind in the game and we needed that 50-50 to go our way. And it when in their way today. It is frustrating as we desperately want to win and it doesn’t help in our chances of winning. Hopefully, we play better tomorrow and don’t require that 50-50,”

Meanwhile, Zak’s statement accusing the umpire didn’t go down well with Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian cricketer and batting coach of Punjab Kings. Wasim took to his Twitter and trolled Zak for crying over the spilled milk. In his tweet, Jaffer gave an example of the Titanic and took a sly dig at visitors by writing:

“*The Titanic has sunk* Some people: How can you be so sure the Titanic has sunk without looking at it from all angles? #INDvsENG”
