Wasim Jaffer Wrote A Beautiful Tweet For Shubman Gill After His Maiden Ton: India’s young opener Shubman Gill ended his long wait to score his first international century as he reached the three-figure mark in the ongoing third and final match of the series against Zimbabwe at Harare Cricket Club, Harare.
Shubman Gill played a crucial knock to put the Men in Blue on top and breach the triple-digit mark for the first time in his international career. Gill has been in some phenomenal form off-lately. While Gill has entered the 90s on a few occasions in the past in both Tests and ODIs, but a century was much-awaited.
He was named Player of the Series on the West Indies tour after ODI contests. Gill had missed out on his maiden century in the 3rd ODI against West Indies as he remained unbeaten on 98 when the rain stopped the play.
However, this time he didn’t hold back. The 22-year-old opener looked in great control and reached the triple-figure mark in 82 balls and struck 12 fours en routing the mark.
Though, he took time to get settled in the middle but he soon switched gears after reaching 50. Shubman shared a 140-run partnership for the third wicket with wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan to stabilize the innings for team India after the departure of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan.
