Punjab Kings leg-spinner Rahul Chahar had a cathartic release after knocking over the stumps of Lucknow Super Giants batter Marcus Stoinis after he had been smoked for a couple of sixes by the Aussie.
LSG hosted PBKS at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday night. Stoinis, batting at number 4, came in to bat in the last over of the powerplay. He started off slowly, and was 7 (9), before he decided to take down leg-spinner Rahul Chahar for a couple of maximums. But Chahar had the last laugh as he castled Stoinis and let out emotions.
Stoinis first went down the ground for a six to a full length ball. Chahar made over-correction and sent down a half-tracker which Stoinis duly punished for another six, this time on the leg-side over cow corner.
A wily operation, Rahul Chahar then increased his pace and fired a length delivery that was clocked in the mid-90s KPH on the middle and leg-stump.
Stoinis went for another pull, but this time the ball was faster than the previous one and the batter missed his pull stroke. The ball sneaked under the bat and clattered into the middle and leg stumps. Chahar was pumped up and let it know to Stoinis with a deep stare.
