Watch: Bumrah Bowls A Perfect Delivery To Leave Steve Smith Stunned

After getting collapsed on 36 runs in the second innings of the first Test, Indian batsmen made a stellar comeback and exhibited a spirited performance in the second Test in Melbourne. Led by skipper Ajinkya Rahane, India exhibited an all-round show and beat Australia by 8 wickets to level the 4-match series 1-1. Meanwhile, Australia’s batting has come under a lot of criticism for not putting any fight and getting succumbed to low totals in both the innings. One of the major reasons for Australia’s downfall in the series has been Steve Smiths’ poor form with the bat. Currently, the best batsman in Australia’s Test Cricket Team, Steve Smith has endured a poor run with the bat so far in the series.

The former Australian skipper hasn’t been able to manage a single double-digit score in the series. In four innings that he has batted, he has managed to score 1, 1*, 0, and 8. Ravi Ashwin accounted for his wicket twice and has troubled him a lot with his variations.

However, his recent dismissal in the second Test off Jasprit Bumrah is currently making all the headlines. It is more to do with the way he got out to the Indian pacer. On the third day of the final session, Jasprit Bumrah bowled Smith with the ball coming into him.

Steve Smith walked across only to see the ball clipping onto the top of the leg stump. Both Smith and Bumrah looked clueless on what exactly happened until the replays confirmed that the ball had indeed clipped the leg stump. It didn’t take too long for the video to get viral as Smith’s wicket received a wide range of reactions from around the world.

Smith’s wicket perhaps ended Australia’s hope of posting a big total on the board in the second innings. Australia, eventually, were bundled out on 200, setting a target of 70 runs. India chased down the comfortably with 8 wickets remaining in the end.
