What a comeback! Australia’s star opener David Warner finally ended his 3-year century drought in the longest format of the game as he smashed his 25th Test ton against South Africa on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground. David Warner, who was playing his 100th Test match, was seen getting emotional after smashing a stunning century.
David Warner And His Family Got Emotional

It has to be noted that Warner hasn’t been in great form coming into the game and the ongoing off-field issues regarding the review of his captaincy ban appeal. And as Warner scored a ton, he couldn’t hold back his emotions and was seen roaring, jumping, and pumping in the air. He was even seen throwing a kiss through his bat to his wife, Candice Warner, who along with their whole family was present at the venue.
Watching Warner reach a remarkable achievement in his momentous 100th Test for Australia, his wife Candice got teary-eyed as she and their daughters lauded Warner’s efforts. The video of the same has gone viral on the internet.

Before this game, Warner was receiving a lot of criticism from all over. In fact, there were many who questioned his place in the side as he returned scores of 0, 48, 21, 28, 0, and 3 in the six innings in the ongoing home Test summer. However, he answered his critics with the bat as he smashed the Proteas’ bowlers to all the corners of the ground and registered a ton.
With this, David Warner became the 10th batter in the world to score a century in his 100th Test match. He also became just the second Australian player after Ricky Ponting to achieve the feat. He also completed 8000 runs in Test format during his knock.
