[Watch] Dhruv Jurel Gets A Salute Welcome From RR At Team Hotel Ahead Of IPL 2024

Young India and Rajasthan Royals keeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel got a grand welcome from the RR hotel staff and fans at the team hotel when he arrived to kick-start his preparations for the IPL 2024.

Dhruv Jurel arrived at the Rajasthan Royals team hotel on Saturday evening, where he was greeted by the hotel staff and RR fans standing in two parallel lines to give him a guard of honour. The 23-year-old was welcomed with salutes from everyone in the lobby, awaiting his arrival. Jurel smiled and embraced all the love and respect warmly.

Dhruv Jurel’s father is a retired army veteran. Although Dhruv is only 23 years of age, he earned everyone’s respect recently with his brilliant performances with the bat and gloves in his debut Test series against England at home. During the series, after reaching his maiden Test fifty, the youngster saluted to give a tribute to his father, who served the country in the army.

There is only one Dhoni: Dhruv Jurel replies to Gavaskar’s comparison

After replacing KS Bharat in the XI, in four innings, Jurel scored 190 runs. His batting efforts in Ranchi – scores of 90 and 39* – earned him a Man of the Match award in what was only his second career Test match. His calmness behind and in front of the stumps got him huge praise from everyone, and the biggest praise came from Sunil Gavaskar who touted Jurel to be the next MS Dhoni.

Recently, after the Test series, Dhruv Jurel appeared at an event for India Today, where he thanked Gavaskar for such high praise, but said that he wants to be himself and there is no one like Dhoni.

Jurel said, “Thank you so much Gavaskar sir for comparing me with Dhoni sir. But I want to say personally that no one can replicate what Dhoni sir has done. There is only one Dhoni. Always was and always will be. For me, I just want to be Dhruv Jurel. Whatever I do, I want to do as Dhruv Jurel. But Dhoni sir is a legend and he will always remain like that.”
