WATCH: Hardik Pandya Raised And Displayed the World Cup Trophy To The Wankhede Crowd

Hardik Pandya suffered very badly in the months of April and May during IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians brought back Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans and appointed him a the captain of the team. This did not sit well with the loyal fans of Rohit Sharma and majority of the Mumbai Indians fans. He was the captain of the Indian Cricket Team who was going to lead the team in the T20 World Cup 2024. He was also the legendary five times IPL winning captain of Mumbai Indians.

Pandya received serious hate throughout India and especially at the Wankhede stadium. He was booed, abused and jeered by the fans in the stadium. The two months affected him badly. However, he did not show any reaction as a cricketer and took everything smiling.

However, the man has always stood up for team India in the toughest situations. He stood up yet again in the T20 World Cup 2024 with his all round abilities. He played significantly well during the game against Afghanistan, Bangladesh and against England in the semi final. Pandya also picked up the crucial wicket of Heinrich Klaasen and defended 16 runs in the final over. Hardik was emotional at the end after Indian Cricket team managed to win the World Cup. He turned from a villain to super hero with his performance in the T20 World Cup 2024

Right from the moment, the Indian players arrived in the Delhi airport, they were given a rousing reception by the Indian fans. First, they met the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in the morning. Later they arrived in Mumbai in the evening to take part in an open bus parade through the Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium to celebrate with the fans.Lakhs of fans gathered in the Marine Drive to welcome the Champions. It was a sea of Indian fans. As the bus moved through the Marine Drive, the Indian fans were present in lakhs to welcome these heroes.

The same Wankhede Stadium chanted the name of Hardik Pandya and when the Indian team reached the stadium, Pandya raised and showed the World Cup trophy to the Wankhede crowd.
