Indian Cricket Fans Singing Vande Mataram In Guwahati During The First T20I: 2020 started with a damp squib for Team India and Sri Lanka as first India vs Sri Lanka T20 International of 2020 was called off without a ball being bowled because of a wet pitch which made the playing area unfit for play.

There was a lot of anticipation and excitement among the fans for the game, however, the rain gods had some other plans. The rain came down heavily after the toss took place.

Before the match started, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper won the toss and decided to field first. At the toss, he said:

“Last year was outstanding for us in two formats, T20s not so much. Good thing though is that we have a World Cup coming up and we’ll be taking things more seriously,”

While the cricketers were waiting for the game to start and the ground staff was busy in drying the wet patches on the pitch, the fans decided to make their presence felt. The scene gave us goosebumps as the entire crowd present at the stadium started singing “Vande Mataram” in complete synchronization.

In order to make the surrounding even more compelling, the crowd turned on the flash on their phones. The stunning scene won our hearts. It was just amazing to see the spirit of the fans, even after the match was ruined.

The video of the stunning moment was shared by the official Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Sharing the video, BCCI wrote: “Guwahati, you beauty ?”
