Manish Pandey had a memorable day as he led his team Karnataka to an emphatic win against Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament on Sunday. Manish Pandey, the skipper of the Karnataka team, delivered a great performance when it was most required of him.

The finale turned out to be a day when nothing could have gone wrong for the skipper. He turned the tables for his team in the thrilling match.

Before the match started, Tamil Nadu chose to field first and Ravi Ashwin kickstarted the game by taking the wickets of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal to put Karnataka in trouble. Manish Pandey came to bat at 39 for two in 4.3 overs. Manish Pandey made sure to stay on the field until the very end to take his team to a safe side by putting a score of 180 for five in 20 overs.

Manish Pandey remained unbeaten and with the help of four glorious 4s and a couple of gigantic 6s, he smashed 60 runs off 45. One of the sixes came while facing leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin, who is famous for giving the ball air in order to trick the batsmen, however, Manish Pandey was in no mood to get tricked as he latched on to it.

The Karnataka skipper smashed the leather right underneath his eye and timed the shot so well, that the shot left everyone’s jaw drop and the ball was on an escalation even when it crossed the boundary.

The shot turned out to be the moment of the match for the fans. Even Murugan looked in utter disbelief after Pandey smashed the stunning shot.
