Pakistan Cricket Team are having a shocker of a time lately. They have failed to perform as a team and many of their players are struggling with their form. There is no unity within the team. Also, players are not getting chosen a per merit and the team is under a lot of dirty politics. They have had a shocker of a performance in the last two ICC tournaments. In the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India, they got knocked out of the group stage. They suffered a humiliating defeat against India in Ahmedabad and also got beaten by Afghanistan. Babar Azam relinquished his captaincy duties after the poor performance in the tournament and Shaheen Afridi was appointed as the T20 captain.

Now, just before the start of the T20 World Cup in 2024, the board members in PCB were changed and Shaheen Shah Afridi was just sacked after a few matches. Babar Azam was again appointed as the T20 captain and what followed was a horror show in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Pakistan lost their opening game against USA and then failed to complete a straightforward chase against India. They were yet again knocked off from the group stage and all hell broke loose on them. They received severe backlash from ex cricketers, their fans and the media.

It’s not just their performance on the field, that is a point of concern. They are absolutely shambolic with their fitness levels. They are lacklustre in the field and often drop catches in serious moments of the game. Meanwhile, Pakistan are now back home and practicing for their upcoming games after a disastrous World Cup. A recent video has gone viral where the Pakistan players were busy in their fielding drills. However, the PCB again became the point of hilarious memes as the players were seen practicing on old mattresses.
