Rishabh Pant Smashed A Stunning Helicopter Shot In Nets Ahead Of Asia Cup Game vs Pakistan: Rishabh Pant’s innovativeness and funkiness with the bat in hand have often excited the fans who are now eager to watch the 24-year-old showcase his skills in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, the continental tournament which will start on Saturday in the UAE.

India’s first match will be against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday in Dubai. Before that, the BCCI uploaded a video of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja batting in the nets and by the looks of it, it seems that India will come out all guns blazing with the bat, remaining true to their newly adopted aggressive, gung-ho approach.

Rishabh Pant plays Helicopter shot in nets

In the video, Jadeja and Pant raise the temperature right from the start with a series of intent-filled smashes down the ground while also using their feet to prepare themselves to hammer the spinners.

Then they take on the leg-side, first Jadeja goes on one leg and swivels himself to tonk one. And then it’s Rishabh Pant who plays a delectable Helicopter Shot, famous of his predecessor in the Indian team, MS Dhoni.

The ball is a low full-toss and Pant doesn’t move his feet – Stand and deliver, the southpaw brings out the whiplash of a hit and rotates the bat in his hand to complete the shot. He watches the ball sail go high up in the air and distance.

The thrashing of the white ball continues from the two left-handers. Toward the end, Pant also plays his famous one-handed slog.

Rishabh Pant has been in terrific form recently: he cracked two centuries on the tour of England (one in Test and one in ODI); then in the 4 T20Is in West Indies, Pant scored 115 runs at a strike rate of 141.

Pant’s one-handed slog is so prominent now that even Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistani speedster who is ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to a knee injury, told Pant that he wishes to play like the left-hander. Afridi met with some of the Indian players in Dubai and had a hilarious chat with Pant.

As Pant came to meet Afridi, the Pakistan pacer comically said, “Yaar main soch raha hu aapki tarah bas batting shuru kar du, ek haath se chhakke lagaau.” Both of them smiled heartily at this ambition of Shaheen, to which Pant replied, “fast bowler ho toh effort lagaana padega sir! Compulsory hai.”

The PCB uploaded this video which has gotten love from fans of both the countries. You can watch Pant’s interaction with Afridi from 1:10.
