Team India beat South Africa by 7 runs in the nerve wrecking final against South Africa in Barbados. Virat Kohli stepped up on the day of the final with 76 runs. He along with Axar Patel helped India to reach 176 runs in their 20 overs. During the run chase, when India were down and out of the game at one stage, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh stepped up and defended the total when 30 runs were needed off 30 balls to win. Suryakumar Yadav took a sensational catch in the last over to seal the win for India in the final.

Team India finally returned home today as they had to be inside their hotel in Barbados for two days as a severe hurricane reached the shores of Barbados. The whole nation was waiting to celebrate with the Indian team as the team will host an open bus celebration in Mumbai in the evening. However, before that, the team reached the Delhi airport. They went to meet India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in the PM house.

The PM was very happy as he was laughing and cracking jokes with all Indian players. He was posing with the World Cup trophy with each of the players. Every player seemed to enjoy the interaction with the prime minister. It was a full circle for India’s PM even. After a heartbreaking loss in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the ODI World Cup 2023 final, PM Modi went to the Indian team’s dressing room and consoled each of the players. Now, he has the chance to celebrate with the players after 7 months.
