Indian Cricket Team under Rohit Sharma scripted history as they became the first team to win the T20 World Cup undefeated. They were absolutely brilliant in the T20 World Cup in Carribean and USA and beat South Africa in a nail biting final by 7 runs to clinch the trophy.

This put an end to the 11 years drought for the Indian Cricket Team without an ICC trophy. After the final, two legends of the game, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have held the batting line up for the national team for the last decade, announced their retirement from T20I cricket. Then, Ravindra Jadeja also joined them and announced his retirement from T20I cricket.

It was an emotional and heart-warming moment for a cricket crazy nation like India. The fans were patiently waiting for the trophy after they have been deprived of it in the last 11 years by the closest of margins. Team India have reached the final and semi final on a consistent basis but have not managed to pass the final hurdle. They beat all the teams in the 10 games till the final of the ODI World Cup 2023, but suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final against Australia. So, this victory came as a fresh air of happiness for the Indian fans and the players as well.

The whole nation was waiting for the team to reach India and celebrate with them. The Indian team reached New Delhi by a special chartered flight on Thursday and met the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. He had a lovely interaction with all the players, congratulated them and the support staff. Then the players left for Mumbai, where they took part in an open bus parade through the Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium.

Lakhs of people gathered and celebrated the World Cup win with the players. It was a sight in cricket that was never seen and was one for the ages. The Wankhede Stadium was jam packed to welcome the triumphant Indian squad. As the Indian players were taking a victory lap across the ground, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma started dancing to the music to which all the other Indian players joined in.
