WATCH: Rohit Sharma Hilariously Jokes About Suryakumar Yadav’s Form

India batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been in stunning form in T20 cricket. A late bloomer, Yadav had made his debut in March last year at the age of 30, but took international cricket by storm.

In 32 T20I innings, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 1045 runs at an average of 38 and strike rate of 176. He’s notched up 1 century and 9 fifties, and he is going to be a key batter for India at the T20 World Cup 2022, slated to commence later this month in Australia.

Rohit Sharma jokingly said Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a “concern”

After the completion of India’s another home series win over South Africa, India skipper Rohit Sharma made a hilarious joke when counting some of the concerns that the side has before heading to Australia for the T20 World Cup.

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Sharma humorously said that Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a bit of a “concern” before both he and host Murali Kartik burst into laughter.

“Speaking about the concerns, to start with Surya’s form, there’s a bit of concern, and then you know, we have to look at that (starts laughing),” Rohit said.

Murali Kartik also had a big chuckle and said “I thought it would be the least of your concerns!”

The clip from the presentation ceremony of Rohit Sharma has gone viral. You can watch it here:

Suryakumar Yadav was in red-hot form against Australia and South Africa. Against the Aussies, he scored 115 runs in 3 knocks at a strike rate of 185; against the Protea, SKY smashed 119 runs in 3 innings at a strike rate of 195. He plundered back-to-back match-winning fifties against SA helping India seal the series and was named the Player of the Series.

When asked about his superb stats in T20Is, Suryakumar Yadav said, “Not really, I didn’t check the stats. But I think that was the demand of the game. My friends send these things (stats and numbers) on whatsapp, I don’t follow it. The thought process was the same, I just wanted to enjoy.”
