Finally both delight and relief for Rohit Sharma as he smashed a brilliant ton in the 5th ODI. But the moment of his innings was the huge six that he clobbered Kagiso Rabada for in the sixth over.

Brilliant Shot

Rabada was bowling some express pace in that over. On the fourth ball of the 6th over Rohit Sharma danced down the track and hit a huge six which landed out of the ground. It was as delightful a Rohit Sharma shot as you’d ever see. You can watch that shot over and over again and fall in love with Rohit Sharma over and over.

17th ODI Ton For Out Of Form Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been in troubled waters ever since the tour of South Africa started. After a poor run of form in the test series, things only worsened for him in the ongoing ODI series but the 5th ODI brought him a great relief. Rohit Sharma was finally amongst runs and Port Elizabeth turned out to be generous for him.

After South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, Shikhar Dhawan was playing really well. But he got out on 34 from 23 balls as Rabada dismissed him. Rabada was all fired up to have picked Shikhar Dhawan.

So he shouted out bye loudly and waved in a manner that could land him in troubled waters. He has already got a suspension to his name from one test after he gave a similar send off to Ben Stokes.

After Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal a little partnership got going between Rohit and Kohli. But that partnership was brought to an end due to mix up between them costing Kohli’s run out. Virat Kohli got out for 36 runs from 54 balls. He was obviously infuriated at Rohit Sharma for the run out.

After having scored just 40 runs in the first 4 ODIs, Hitman finally joined the party. Rohit scored his 17th ODI ton today and he must be a relieved man. This century brings great relief for Rohit and his team.
