Watch: Rohit Sharma’s Reaction After KL Rahul’s Dismissal Has Gone Viral

After showing good signs of some form and confidence in the last game, against Pakistan, India opener KL Rahul had another poor outing on Tuesday, against Sri Lanka in Dubai. After being asked to bat first, India got off to a torrid start as they lost KL Rahul and Virat Kohli inside the first three overs of the powerplay.

KL Rahul scored only 6 runs off 7 balls with the help of a boundary which he hit to mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana, but the spinner had the last laugh as he dismissed Rahul on the next delivery.

First Rahul gave a charge and lofted Theekshana over mid-off for a four to get going. Having a premonition of a similar approach from Rahul, Theekshana fired the ball in fast and at the stumps. Rahul once again stepped forward but missed the inswinging delivery that hit him on his front boot.

Rohit Sharma’s reaction to KL Rahul’s wicket has gone viral

The Sri Lankans went up in the appeal and the umpire Bismillah Jan Shinwari after thinking for a while, raised his finger, which is a brave decision given the batsman had advanced down the umpires generally don’t risk out in such cases.

A bit surprised by the umpire’s decision, KL Rahul straightaway went for the review. After about 5 minutes in the procedure – lengthened because of the bat being close to the ball and boot – the ball-tracking showed the ball to be clipping the leg-stump on the outside. That was enough for Sri Lanka as the umpire’s call went their way and Rahul had to depart.

On seeing the umpire’s call on the big screen, Rohit Sharma gave a frustrated, unhappy, dejected reaction by closing his eyes and tilting his head up in the sky. On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s Chamika Karunaratne gave was all energetic and gave a pumped-up reaction. The video of Rohit Sharma’s reaction to KL Rahul’s dismissal confirmation has gone viral.

Sri Lanka clinched the last-over thriller by 6 wickets, chasing down the target of 174 with only one ball to spare. Openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis set the tone for the chase with half-centuries each and recorded a 97-run opening stand. India tried to pull things back with a few wickets but Bhanuka Rajapaksa and skipper Dasun Shanaka always had the chase under their control and eventually pulled it off by escaping a scare from Arshdeep Singh in the last over.
