Watch: Rohit Sharma Welcomed Virat Kohli In An Emotional Way After His Heroic Innings In Centurion

While their fans involve themselves in petty everyday social media wars, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli continue to show their mutual respect toward each other. The latest video of the way Rohit welcomed back Kohli to the dressing room after his heroic knock in the 2nd innings in the Centurion Test further reflects on the bond the two senior India players share.

Even as India lost the Centurion Test against South Africa in a humiliating fashion – going down by an innings and 32 runs – skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t miss the opportunity to appreciate Virat Kohli for his valiant innings on Day 3.

Kohli waged a lone battle in India’s second innings, scoring 76 runs in 82 balls with the help of 12 fours and 1 six. In his innings, Kohli showed his range of cuts, punches on the offside that he’s been working on and pull shots.

India bundled out for 131, leaving Kohli stranded on 76*. Only Kohli and Shubman Gill (26) got into double digits.

We didn’t exploit the conditions with the ball: Rohit Sharma

After the loss, Rohit lamented India’s bowlers’ inability to make the most out of the pace-friendly conditions in Centurion.

After the initial superb spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna let the game slip away as Dean Elgar amassed 185 runs while David Bedingham and Marco Jansen plundered half-centuries.

Speaking after the loss, Rohit said: “Having been put into bat, KL batted well to get us that score but then we didn’t exploit the conditions with the ball and then again didn’t show up today with the bat. If we have to win Test matches, we have to come together collectively and we didn’t do that.”
