In the recently concluded BBL match, Hobart Hurricanes put up a great show and defeated Melbourne Renegades by four runs at Docklands Stadium. The match turned out to be more thrilling than it was expected because of a nasty collision between Sam Harper and Nathan Ellis.
The collision happened when Sam Harper walked in to bat at No. 3 and smashed a ball delivered by Nathan Ellis straight at mid-off and rushed to take a quick single. However, the fielder was quick to collect the ball at the non-strikers’ end, which eventually created panic for Sam Harper to save his wicket.
Sam Harper, desperately tried to save his wicket by reaching the crease at the time tumbled over Nathan Ellis, who didn’t see him coming towards him as his back was facing Sam.
The nasty collision caught bought the players, however, Sam Harper was the one who was the most affected by it as he fell straight to the ground. After he made an impact with the ground, he was seen holding his head with both his hands.
Thankfully, Sam Harper was able to stand on his feet within a few seconds and he indicated that the injury was not that serious as it looked. However, after his examination, the independent doctor decided not to take any chance and took Sam off the field.
Later, the Big Bash League via their official Twitter handle posted a video of the nasty collision between the two, which is now making rounds on the social media. Sharing the video of the same, BBL wrote:
“Nasty collision in the middle between Sam Harper and Nathan Ellis. Play has stopped while the docs take a look at Harper #BBL09”

Poor kid, nasty to see. Hope he recovers quickly and is surrounded by people who value his health over anything else.

Hope he is okay – he looked very unsteady when he tried to stand up. Good move to get him checked out, no game of cricket is worth risking your health ???

Although @RenegadesBBL could have used him out there I’m glad they took him off-nothing is more important than health & safety…
