Representing your country at the international level is something every aspiring person dreams of. And the inspiring moment finally arrived for the right-arm pacer Sandeep Warrier, who wouldn’t hide his emotions when he was given his maiden T20I cap ahead of the third and final T20I match against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

For the unversed, Sandeep Warrier went with team India as a net bowler. Yes, you read that right, he wasn’t even a part of the Indian squad for the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, with Krunal Pandya getting infected with COVID-19 and as many as 8 players being asked to isolate themselves, the BCCI had no choice but to give the opportunity to Sandeep Warrier, Simarjeet Singh, R. Sai Kishore, Ishan Porel, and Arshdeep Singh in the main squad.

Ahead of the game, when the T20I cap was presented to Sandeep, he couldn’t hold his emotions and tears rolled down his eyes. The BCCI via their official Twitter handle shared the emotional moment, which has left everyone in awe of the cricketer. Sharing the video, BCCI welcomed Sandeep and wrote:

“Tears of joy! ☺
The wait is finally over. Welcome to international cricket, Sandeep Warrier. ? ?
Go well! ? ? #TeamIndia #SLvIND”
