On Wednesday, Sri Lanka and Australia locked horns in the second T20I at The Gabba, Australia. After losing the first T20I, the Sri Lankan cricket team was in a must-win situation, however, their batsmen failed to leave an impact on the scoreboard with their bats.

It was an easy win for the Australians to chase a total of 118 runs. As things weren’t going smooth, a hilarious incident took place amidst the match, which left everyone in splits.

Well, during the chase, the Australian cricket team lost the important wicket of Aaron Finch. However, the amazing partnership of David Warner and Steve Smith made the Sri Lankan bowlers run for their money. While David Warner won his second consecutive Man of the Match award by scoring 60 off just 41 deliveries, Steve Smith, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 53.

It was the 13th over when the hilarious moment took place, Lakshan Sandakan was bowling. David Warner was on strike, who smashed the second delivery of the over straight back to the bowler which went on to hit the stumps.

Meanwhile, Steve Smith ran in order to complete a single, but Warner denied it. Lakshan Sandakan collected the ball and instead of dislodging the stumps with the ball in his hand, he uprooted it with the other hand and the ball in the other and appealed for a run-out. This is how he committed a schoolboy mistake and lost the golden opportunity to run-out Steve Smith.

The video of the same has been leaving everyone in splits on the internet. Here, watch the video :
