Babar Azam, who is regarded as one of the best batters to have ever played for Pakistan across all formats, didn’t receive a hero’s reception when he failed to fire for his side in the ongoing 2nd Test match against Ben Stokes-led England. Babar Azam, who played a stunning knock of 75 runs in the first innings, misjudged the delivery of Ollie Robinson and got his stumps rattled.
While many were expecting the Pakistan captain to score big in the 2nd innings, Babar Azam failed badly as he was dismissed for cheap by Ollie Robinson. He was simply out-smarted by the England pacer before the end of the 19th over. Babar Azam was the second Pakistan batter after opener Mohammad Rizwan, who was bamboozled by a peach of a delivery by James Anderson. This isn’t the first time that Babar was dismissed for a single-digit score when his side needed him the most. In fact, the batter was seen struggling badly to score runs in the T20 World Cup 2022.
However, the crowd in Multan didn’t take this lightly as they booed their captain when he walked off the field after scoring just one run. The crowd present in the ground started booing Azam by saying “ZimBabar….Zimbabar”. For the unversed, the fans have coined the term signifying that Babar scores against small teams like Zimbabwe but when his side needs him the most, he fails to perform.
The video of the Pakistani crowd slamming Babar Azam is going viral on the internet. Watch the video here:

Talking about the game, Pakistani bowlers ended up conceding a 79-run lead and England added 275 runs in the second innings to leave Pakistan in a difficult situation. However, Pakistan batters failed once again to chase the target runs and eventually England won the game by 26 runs.
