[World Cup 2023] “Play Well, Play Hard”: Suniel Shetty’s Advice To Son-In-Law KL Rahul

Since his return against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, KL Rahul has proven why he is an indispensable member of the ODI side, scoring runs in the middle-order and at a good rate. KL Rahul has not let the fans miss much of Rishabh Pant in the ODI side.

He cracked a terrific century against Pakistan in Colombo in the Asia Cup. Then, recently, against Australia, he scored consecutive half-centuries, both in winning causes. Between these knocks, he had also played a good knock of 39 runs in 44 balls on a raging turning pitch against Sri Lanka in Colombo in a match that India won by only 41 runs.

“Play well, play hard and play fair”: Suniel Shetty’s advice to KL Rahul and Team India

The World Cup 2023 will kick-start this week on Thursday and India’s first match will be this Sunday, on October 8 against Australia in Chennai.

Bollywood megastar Suniel Shetty, who is the father-in-law of KL Rahul, gave his piece of advice to his son-in-law and the entire Indian team to play hard and play fair in the tournament. Shetty also called Rahul as his son.

“I believe he (KL Rahul) is my son. I don’t know how to be a father-in-law. I am a better father… I call him my son only. (World Cup is approaching) My fingers are crossed. Let the best team win. We have got an extraordinary team. Play well, play hard and play fair,” Suniel was quoted as saying by ANI.

The tournament will go for six-seven weeks with the final slated for November 19 in Ahmedabad. The ODI World Cup in happening for the first time in India since the 2011 World Cup. The expectations from the fans is huge for Team India to finally end their decade-long drought for an ICC trophy.
