Ravi Shastri’s Old Tweet For Virat Kohli Has Gone Viral: All the excitement related to the ongoing World Test Championship Final 2023 was dashed in a matter of a few hours as Australian batters Steve Smith and Travis Head dominated the Indian bowlers on Day 1 of the ongoing WTC Final. The duo revived Australia 76/3 and stitched an unbroken 251-run fourth wicket stand to put their side on top.

Several former cricketers and experts stressed on the lack of intensity as the reason behind India’s lackluster performance.

Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj

Meanwhile, fans on social media were quick to remember the Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri era, where the Indian bowlers dominated over the best batting line-ups around the world. Virat Kohli, who has always played with an attacking mindset made India a mighty force, especially in Overseas Test.

Fans even remembered how team India won the famous Test against England here in 2021. The aggression with which players used to play under Kohli’s captaincy led to opposition players making grave mistakes. Though, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is without key players, especially Jasprit Bumrah, the rest of the bowlers failed badly as well.

Ravi Shastri’s Old Tweet For Virat Kohli Has Resurfaced On Twitter

Amidst all the tweets from the fans, an old tweet of Ravi Shastri, from January 2022, has resurfaced on social media. Shastri wrote this tweet when Kohli stepped down as Test Captain of team India. The tweet read:

“Virat, you can go with your head held high. Few have achieved what you have as captain. Definitely India’s most aggressive and successful. Sad day for me personally as this is the team 🇮🇳 we built together – @imVkohli”

Check out the Tweet:

Talking about Kohli, he too failed to perform with the bat in the 1st innings. After Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were dismissed cheaply, there were a lot of expectations from Kohli, however, he also failed to live up to the expectations and was dismissed after scoring just 14 runs.
