Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been enjoying a decent run under new captain Faf du Plessis in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Virat Kohli had stepped down as RCB captain following the conclusion of IPL 2021 last year and was replaced by Du Plessis ahead of the start of IPL 2022
Faf du Plessis is one of the most brilliant minds to have played the game of cricket. He is known for his calm nature and amazing performances. He has led his national side to many achievements as a captain. Therefore, his appointment as the new RCB skipper didn’t come out as a big surprise to the fans as everyone was expecting him to get into the shoes of Virat Kohli.
When RCB had announced the South African as their new skipper for the upcoming IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans, one of the two new franchises, tried to do a funny pun with Faf’s name. However, that received slamming back from the netizens. Making a pun on RCB’s new captain, the Gujarat Titans admin wrote: “Good choice! We love Faf-da too!”

Talking about the performance of RCB, with 6 wins so far in their 11 games, the team is currently placed at the fourth spot on the IPL 2022 points table and has seen a number of players step up to produce some crucial and match-winning performances for their side.
While veteran keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been exceptional with the bat as a finisher, the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel have done pretty well with the ball.
