MS Dhoni is not an expressive man, he is not someone who expressed through a lot of words. However, there have been instances, when MS Dhoni uttered a few things that were blown out in the media and left everyone in splits. From schooling journalists to giving them savage replies, MS Dhoni has always managed to steal the limelight with his words.

One such incident took place in the year 2014, during India’s tour to England when captain cool gave it back to the British media. It happened after the India cricket team failed to give the best of their capabilities during the Test Series. Back then, during the last years of MS Dhoni’s captaincy, it had become a trend as the team would perform well in the ODIs and T20Is but would fail in Test series.

After Team India’s debacle in Test series, MS Dhoni was bombarded with questions from the British media. The journalist asked about the technical aspects of the Indian batsmen. One of the journalists even asked MS Dhoni, if they would give up on their IPL contracts to correct their techniques by taking part in the English County cricket.

To this, MS Dhoni came up with a befitting reply. He pointed out the jealousy factor regarding the success of the Indian Premier League. He had said:

“Ask the BCCI about it. And don’t get jealous of IPL,”

Following this question, MS Dhoni-led team India went on to change the fortunes in the ODI series by winning it by  3-1.

Meanwhile, in normal circumstances, MS Dhoni would have been playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League, which was suspended because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
