Last year in the Duleep Trophy Final between South Zone and West Zone, young cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal was sent off the field by his own teammate Ajinkya Rahane for misbehaving with opposition batsman Ravi Teja.
Recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal opened up on what transpired between him and Ravi Teja, leading to Ajinkya Rahane ordering him to leave the field for a few minutes, even though that meant Rahane’s team played with 10 men on the field.
The situated had got heated as Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to sledge Ravi Teja even after being given a warning from the umpires and his captain, Ajinkya Rahane. As Jaiswal continued to be in the ear of Teja, Rahane thought it was best for the youngster to learn a lesson by sending him off the field for a few minutes.
Jaiswal said that aggression is part of the play on the field, but also revealed that he was being abused by the opponent.
“Now what is the use of talking about things that have already happened,” he said on The Lallantop when asked about. “Aggression is important and I am aggressive mentally. Sometimes that comes out I guess. But I hadn’t said anything big at the time but it’s ok, things happen. What is the use of talking about it then,” he said.
“I don’t want to say anything. I would rather keep it with me, absorb it like a sponge. When I need to squeeze it, I will,” he said.
Koi mere maa behen ke baare me bolega, thodi sununga: Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jaiswal, who recently had a bumper IPL 2023 season with the bat for RR and earned his maiden India Test call-up, revealed that sledging is also a regular part of the IPL.
“Who says that, it happens to everyone. No one really comes to know about it. It depends upon who is saying what. Bhai mereko koi mere maa behen ke baare me bolega, thodi sununga (If someone says things about my mother or my sister, I won’t tolerate it),” he said.
Rahane and Jaiswal will now play in the same team again, this time for India as Rahane is retained as the vice-captain for the West Indies tour, where Jaiswal is touted to make his Test debut.
