Rising Pune Supergiant’s coach Stephen Fleming is one of the most calm, composed and classy cricketers ever. During his playing days, he captained Blackcaps with utmost grace and integrity. He is one of New Zealand’s leading run scorer and widely regarded as one of the best Test batsmen from New Zealand.

After announcing retirement from cricket, Fleming took up coaching. He first became the coach of Chennai Super Kings and then took charge of Rising Pune Supergiant last year, after Chennai, along with Rajasthan Royals, were banned for two years.

In the final of IPL 2017 against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad, Stephen Fleming was seen wearing a formal suit and his usual RPS jersey. This attracted a lot of eyeballs as it isn’t to carry a three-piece suit in summers in India.

It remained quiet a mystery until Simon Doull revealed that RPS coach Stephen Fleming had made a bet with his players that he will come out wearing a suit if RPS reach the finals of IPL 2017. This bet was made halfway through the tournament when Pune were struggling to find form and they were nowhere close to reaching top 4.

But, RPS showed great character and peaked at the right time. They played as a unit and finished the group stage as number 2 ranked team. They also defeated Mumbai Indians in the first qualifier and became the first team to qualify for the finals of 2017. However, they couldn’t play their A game in the final and lost to Mumbai Indians in a nail-bitter, in Hyderabad.

Apparently, Stephen Flemming made a bet with his players that he will wear a suit if the team reaches the finals! #RPSvMI #IPL
