Former England captain Kevin Pietersen is currently on his visit to India where he’s met some political dignitaries including PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Pietersen was invited as a guest at the three-day The Raisina Dialogue event, a geo-political conference, in India.

Kevin Pietersen, who has a massive following of Indian fans and is adored by the Indian cricket-loving public, on Friday morning, posted a picture of himself embracing a handshake with PM Narendra Modi when the duo met in Delhi.

The England batting legend has in the past been in great praise of Narendra Modi and today as well, the 42-year-old revered over Modi’s great decision of the releasing of cheetahs last year on his birthday.

“An honor to speak so passionately and warmly about the release of cheetahs on your birthday, Sir @narendramodi. Thank you for your infectious smile and firm handshake. I really look forward to seeing you again, Sir!” Kevin Pietersen tweeted with a picture of himself with Narendra Modi.

On September 17, 2022, Modi had released a coalition of cheetahs into the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. 8 Cheetahs — 5 of which are female — were flown from Windhoek, Namibia to Gwalior. This breed of cheetahs were declared extinct from India in 1952 but the 8 cheetahs were brought from Africa’s Namibia as part of ‘Project Cheetah’ and the government’s efforts to revitalise and diversify the country’s wildlife and habitat.

Kevin Pietersen himself is a great advocate of wildlife and animal conservation and hailed this decision from the Modi government.

A day before his meeting with Narendra Modi, Kevin Pietersen met India’s honorable Home Minister Amit Shah and duo shared some time together talking about various subjects. KP posted a picture with Amit Shah on his social media calling him “Kind, caring and inspirational.”

“Fascinating conversation. Kind, caring and inspirational man! Thank you!” said Pietersen on his meet with Amit Shah.

Thank you for the most wonderful welcoming this morning, Mr @AmitShah. Fascinating conversation. Kind, caring and inspirational man! Thank you! 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/qQJVdEBiua

KP finished with 4440 runs and 1176 runs in ODIs and T20Is respectively. He played a significant role in England’s Test series victory in India in 2012/13, the last time India lost a home Test series.
