‘Why’s It Funny’- Allysa Healy Hits Back At A Fan Trolling Mitchell Starc For Picking Less Wickets Than Mohammed Siraj

The Indian Cricket Team created history after breaking Australia’s unbeaten 32-year winning streak at The Gabba, courtesy an outstanding all-round performance from the Indian Cricket Team. Playing his first-ever Test series, Mohammed Siraj was at the heart of India’s Gabba Test win. He claimed his first Test five-for, helping the Men in Blue beat the Aussies in the final Test and thereby take the series 2-1.

In the absence of senior fast bowlers, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur stepped up to the occasion and exhibited a display of pure grit and determination. Mohammed Siraj made his Test debut in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar series 2020-21.

He went on to claim the most number of wickets for India in the series. With 13 wickets to his name, Mohammed Siraj ended as the second-highest wicket-taker. On the other hand, the Australian fast bowlers, particularly Mitchell Starc, didn’t prove to be as effective as the team would have liked.

Australia’s lead fast bowler, Mitchell Starc grabbed only 11 wickets in 4 Tests at an average of 40.73. A lot of Aussie fans expressed their disappointment over his lack-lustre performance in the series. Meanwhile, a cricket fan took notice of that and trolled Mitchell Starc while comparing his bowling numbers to that of Siraj.

“Lmao Siraj has more wickets than Starc in this series”, he wrote on Twitter.

Australian Women’s Team cricketer and Starc’s wife, Allysa Healy didn’t like the Tweet and hit back at the Twitter user by saying that there was nothing funny about that. Siraj’s wickets tally reflected his ability and effort he put in the series.

“Why’s it funny?! Reflects Siraj’s ability and reward for effort”. Allysa wrote on his Twitter handle.

Allysa Healy’s reply to the Tweet took no time in getting viral and drew various reactions. Another fan asked her if Starc has lost his ability or he isn’t putting enough efforts.

To that, Healy replied, “Actually, no. I’m giving credit to a young Indian bowler who’s had an incredible series and should be praised for his efforts!”
