Chris Gayle had amassed a haul of 553 sixes (551 innings), which Rohit surpassed in just 473 innings. He is now sitting at the top of this list with 554* sixes.

Besides this, it was his 7th World Cup hundred in just his 19th inning. He showed how consistent he has been on the big stage and proved why he is hailed so highly. He reached the triple-figure mark in just 63 balls, breaking Kapil Dev’s four-decade-old record for the fastest century by an Indian at the World Cup.
