World Cup 2023

The anticipation of the fans about the selling of tickets for World Cup 2023 non-India matches was busted with a great amount of frustration and shock when they learned that many games even those not involving the Indian team had already been sold out.

Fans were excited to buy tickets in their cities for non-India matches, to see some of the best players in the world, and to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere. However, this week as tickets went on sale, within minutes it had all gone sold out, creating shock and panic among fans, especially those who had booked hotels and flight tickets for those matches.

Netizens wondered whether something fishy was going on with the selling of tickets: fans pondered whether the BCCI has been selling tickets in black as the demand for World Cup tickets is high. People from outside India are set to travel to support their teams, but a lack of tickets could mean that they would be ready to spend large amounts of money to buy tickets in black.

BookyMyShow app gets hanged when users tried to buy World Cup 2023 tickets

Fans can book tickets for World Cup 2023 through the BookMyShow app. However, when fans logged in on Friday when the first batch of tickets was sold, there were technical glitches in the app and it got hanged. One can only wonder what would happen on the day the tickets for India matches will go for sale. The BookMyShow website also hung and failed to function properly, adding more to the frustration of the fans.

Fans vented out at the BCCI on Twitter, expressing their worry, and dismay for the mismanagement, first for late tickets, and for the technical failures of the ticket vendor.

With the app showing tickets being all sold out, fans further felt betrayed and angry about not being able to secure tickets due to glitches in the Bookmyshow app and website.

Here are the reactions of the fans:

Why Max tickets have not sold out ? Is it worst management ? How can people manage to plan before 1/2 months ? Every trains, hotel are full. Now we have to pay extra for it. U should issue tickets at least 6 month early. #CWC23Tickets @BCCI @bookmyshow @JayShah @cricketworldcup pic.twitter.com/1G62Qo64eX
