[World Cup] India Or Pakistan?- Jacques Kallis Makes The Wildest Semi-Final Prediction – The World Cup 2023 is finally here. The warm-up matches will begin on Friday afternoon. The main tournament will kick-start next week on October 5.
All cricket fans and ex-cricketers have been recently sharing their views about the teams, the players, and revealing their predictions for the upcoming 10-team tournament.
The World Cup 2023 has the same format as it was in the 2019 World Cup: all 10 teams will face each other once in the league phase. The top 4 teams will proceed into the semi-finals, and the winner of the two semi-finals will meet for the grand finale on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Jacques Kallis doesn’t pick Pakistan for World Cup 2023 semi-finals
Pakistan have not reached the semi-finals of the last two ODI World Cups. South African legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis feels that Pakistan will once again fail to reach the semi-finals.
Ahead of the start of the warm-up matches, Jacques Kallis and other former cricketers spoke with Star Sports, the broadcasters for the tournament, to reveal their predictions for the semi-finalists of the tournament.
Jacques Kallis picked India, England, South Africa, and Australia as the four semi-finalists he feels will finish the league phase in the top 4. Kallis reckons Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam and which also have one of the best fast bowlers in the world in Shaheen Afridi, will fail to make in into the final four in the World Cup 2023.
Speaking with Star Sports, Jacques Kallis said: “I will guess probably India. Let’s go England. I am gonna go South Africa being a South Africa. And never leave out the Aus (Australia).”
Former Australia captain Aaron Finch, who captained Australia in the 2019 World Cup and won the 2015 World Cup, picked Pakistan as one of the four sides to reach the semis.
Revealing his predictions, Finch said: “India, England, Australia. [For 4th spot], I will probably say Pakistan; they are really well balanced team.”
