The year 2018 started on a bad note for the Indian cricketer, Wriddhiman Saha, who sustained an array of injuries this year. First he picked up a hamstring injury during the South Africa tour in the beginning of the year. Later during the Indian Premiere League, while playing for his team Sunrisers Hyderabad, Wriddhiman Saha suffered a thumb injury.

His injuries have forced him out of many games. Just as he was on his way of recovering, another shoulder injury was waiting for him. Wriddhiman Saha, recently underwent a major surgery and has been working really hard since then to make a comeback.

During his absence, the selectors roped in Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik in replacement  of Wriddhiman Saha. Lately, Rishabh Pant, has also been giving some really good performances. Although, he might not be the best one behind the stumps but he has been working really hard to make his space permanent. And with him doing good, the way of returning back is very difficult for Wriddhiman Saha.

Recently, while talking in an interview, Wriddhiman Saha was asked about the performances of the cricketers who were roped in replacement of him. He said that the competition doesn’t concern him much and the selection process wasn’t in his hands. He said :

“I haven’t been able to watch all the games to be honest. But I have watched Rishabh. He played Test cricket the way he plays T20. This is his style and he has been successful this way. I never think who is playing in my place. I will do my job, and selection isn’t in my hands. If I do well, I will get a chance. Rishabh, Dinesh (Karthik) or Parthiv (Patel), whoever plays, they all will try to do their best, like I do,”
