WTC Final: Rishabh Pant’s Instagram Story On Team India Goes Viral

India are certainly missing one of their key players Rishabh Pant in the ongoing WTC Final 2023, and the wicketkeeper too is missing the team and playing on the field for his country.

While KS Bharat did well with the gloves in the World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval, the inexperienced player managed only 5 runs in India’s first innings. It is Pant’s counter-attacking and intimidating prowess that is been missed big time, plus he also added a left-hander in the lower middle-order.

Since 2021, Pant is the leading run-scorer for India – despite missing 5 Test matches so far – with 1428 runs at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 76 with 3 centuries and 9 fifties. However, his car accident in December put a major spanner in the works of the 26-year-old’s career and Team India’s plans.

Rishabh is currently back home in Delhi, recovering from the injuries sustained in the car accident. He had undergone a couple of knee operations.

Watching Team India bat and struggle early on against the Australian seamers, Pant posted a heartwarming Instagram story to show his support for Team India and a finger crossed emoji, sending wishes and luck towards the batters.

Here, check out Rishabh Pant’s story as India struggle with the bat in World Test Championship Final:

Will Rishabh Pant play in World Cup 2023?

No, Rishabh Pant is unlikely to play in World Cup 2023 as his recovery period is expected to go into 2024. It has been learned that the wicket-keeper could be fit by January next year.

He has started to walk without crutches so that’s a positive sign of recovery.

” The general impression is that he is recovering faster than anticipated, but it will take seven to eight months to be cricket-fit. That said it could take even longer for him to do the wicketkeeping and the initial comeback period will have to be solely as a batter, which is still considered an asset,” Cricbuzz said.
