The IPL 2023 has concluded and thus the focus of the players and the fans shifts back to international cricket with a big upcoming assignment for Team India: the WTC Final 2023 against Australia, starting June 7 at The Oval.
The Emerging Player of the IPL 2023 season, Jaiswal, had his first net session with Team India on Wednesday in London. The left-handed Mumbai batsman was drafted into the World Test Championship Final contingent as a standby player replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad who will be getting married in a couple of days’ time.
Yashasvi Jaiswal looked confident in his maiden net session with the Test squad. He was solid against senior spinners R Ashwin and Axar Patel and played some good-looking strokes.
The ICC uploaded a video of Yashasvi’s net session on Wednesday. Toward the end, he was seen having a lengthy chat with former India skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli can be seen giving Jaiswal tips on his head movement, trigger and feet movement so as to add more balance and clarity in the youngster’s game, which will allow him to open up for more strokes.
