Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had a day to remember on October 2 as he registered his maiden half-century and helped Rajasthan Royals to register a crucial seven-wicket win at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. He was over the moon after he secured Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni’s signature on his bat after the match.
For any aspiring cricketer, playing with or against MS Dhoni is a big deal. It was during the previous season of IPL when the 18-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal was left completely in awe of Dhoni’s presence. Now the young cricketer played a scintillating knock of 50 runs against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.
Yashasvi provided the fireworks in the run-chase of 190 runs as Rajasthan finished the match with 15 balls to spare.
In a video posted on IPLT20.com, Jaiswal expressed his happiness and said, “I took signature of MS Dhoni on my bat after the match, I am really happy.”
Jaiswal also talked about the match and his explosive knock at the top of the innings under pressure, Jasiwal said, “I was thinking about looking at the wicket first, but we were chasing 190, I knew the wicket must be good. I was just looking at capitalising on the loose balls and giving my team a good start so that we are able to chase 190.”
Talking about Jaiswal, he has amassed 237 runs at an average of 29.62 and a strike rate of 151.92, so far in the IPL 2021. He is also the second-highest run-scorer for his team this season after skipper Sanju Samson.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will now take on Mumbai Indians in another crucial encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
