After winning the test series, the One Day series has only unleashed nightmares for South Africa. They are already trailing in the series having lost the first two games but injuries continue to haunt South Africa.

India defeated South Africa by 6 wickets at the Durban and then in The Centurion ODI, India again decimated South Africa. In the Centurion ODI India posted a huge 9 wicket victory over the hosts.

They already had their premier ODI player sitting out as AB De Villiers hurt his finger in the last test. Then Faf Du Plessis, the skipper too got ruled out after getting injured in the first ODI and now another key player has been ruled out.

The next on the list of players caught in injuries is the wicket-keeper batsman Quinton De Kock. A wrist injury has ruled out Quinton De Kock from not just the ODI series but also the T20 series against India.

“Further investigation revealed severe bony bruising to the area, with associated swelling around the tendon in the wrist. This type of injury will require between 2-4 weeks to heal, which subsequently rules him out of the remainder of the ODI and T20 series against India. The Cricket South Africa medical team will aim to have him ready for the Test series against Australia starting next month.”

Cricket South Africa has not announced any replacement for their injured keeper. This might hint at the fact that Heinrich Klaasen is all likely to make his ODI debut in the third ODI.

South Africa has seen all its best ODI players getting ruled out one after the other and India is on a song after having lost the test series. India is now the favorite to win the ODI series.
