“He is destined for greatness..”: Yuvraj Singh Made A Big Prediction For India’s Young Opener

The Indian cricket team suffered a humiliating defeat against Bangladesh in the 1st ODI match of the ongoing 3-match ODI series in Dhaka. The Indian batters were seen struggling as no other batting except KL Rahul could get going. They were bundled out for 186 runs in 41.2 overs. The batters weren’t able to adjust to the sluggish track, however, the bowlers did exceptionally well. 

At one point of time in the game,  India was on the brink of victory, having reduced Bangladesh to 136/9 in the 187-run chase, however, Mehidy Hasan produced a sublime effort and took his side to victory. Mehidy Hasan scored 38 runs in 39 balls where he smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Meanwhile, amid ongoing India’s tour of Bangladesh, legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who has groomed several exciting young talents from his state after calling time on his career, recently showered praise on one of the rising stars of the Indian team amid Team India’s tour of Bangladesh.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj has reserved massive praise for star batter Shubman Gill, who he believes is a strong contender to feature in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Talking about the rapid rise of Shubman Gill, the legendary cricketer opined that Gill is a strong contender to open for India at the ODI World Cup. 

“I think Shubman is doing very well and is performing consistently. I believe he is a strong contender to open for India in the 2023 World Cup,” Yuvraj told news agency PTI

Notably, Shubman Gill was a star turnout for the Shikhar Dhawan-led Team India in New Zealand. Gill amassed 108 runs for Team India in the 3-match ODI series against the Black Caps. He added: 

“Shubman is very hardworking and is doing all the right things. I believe he is destined for greatness in the next 10 years,” 

So far, Gill has played 11 Tests and 15 ODIs for the Men In Blue and has amassed 687 runs for India in the 50-over format. Gill has accumulated 579 runs in 11 Test matches for Team India. Gill made his ODI debut for India against New Zealand at Seddon Park in 2019.
