In recent times, a new spate of biopics, a number of luminaries was observed in Bollywood in recent times. From the likes of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Azhar, to the upcoming movie ’83’, which is based on Team Indian’s historic win in World Cup 1983, a lot of biopics are based on the sporting events or personalities.
It has been a long time since the rumors of a biopic on our World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh has been going around. Though no official announcement has been made till now, but the Indian cricket fans would love to see the struggle and inspiring story of Yuvraj Singh on the big screen.
Recently, Yuvraj Singh was asked about who he thinks can portray him best on-field, to which Yuvraj Singh revealed the name of none other than the ‘Gully Boy’ famed actor MC Sher or Siddhant Chaturvedi, who impressed one and all with his performance in the movie and grabbed many awards. Talking about him, Yuvraj Singh said:
“Probably, I’d play myself — that would be a bit desperate… (chuckles) hai, na? See, that’s the director’s job to decide. If it’s going to be a Bollywood film, then Siddhant Chaturvedi — the guy who played MC Sher in ‘Gully Boy’ is a good option; I’d love to see him in the film”
Well, Siddhant Chaturvedi looks like the perfect choice to play Yuvraj Singh on-screen considering the fact that Siddhant has already played the role of a cricketer in the web series ‘Inside Edge’, he can completely nail the role of Yuvraj Singh.
Talking about his professional front, Siddhant Chaturvedi has a lot of interesting lined up ahead of him. He will be seen alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in their upcoming untitled movie. Besides this, Siddhant is currently busy shooting for his second movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ with Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee and others. He has another project with Katrina Kaif.
Though there isn’t any space for biopic as for now, but a biopic on our world cup hero will be enticing for any actor.
