Rohit Sharma made his ODI debut in June 2007 while his maiden T20 game came during the World Cup later that year against England, where unfortunately Rohit didn’t get a chance to bat. However, things changed massively for Rohit when MS Dhoni promoted him to the top of the batting order in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
Since ICC Champions Trophy 2013, Rohit Sharma has played 134 innings ODI cricket and scored 7,610 runs at an average of 59.74. In addition, he has 27 centuries (29 overall) since then and has also scored 4 tons in the shortest format of the game.
Recently, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who is one of Rohit Sharma’s best friends, recently appeared on a chat show which was uploaded on Youtube and spoke about Rohit Sharma and his initial days.
Asked about the first impression of Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh said that Rohit Sharma looked like somebody who had a lot of time to play his strokes.
“I think when he came into the Indian team, he looked like somebody who had a lot of time,” Yuvraj Singh said during a YouTube chat show.
Yuvraj Singh also said that Rohit Sharma reminded him of former Pakistani great Inzamam-ul-Haq. Yuvi added that just like Inzamam, Rohit Sharma had a lot of time to play his shots.
“He reminded me of Inzamam-ul-Haq, because, when he batted, Inzi had a lot of time (to play the bowlers),”
