Yuvraj Singh Shares Why He Wants To Return To Cricket

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who is regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen to have played for team India, has decided to make a comeback for Punjab in the domestic circuit. It was in June 2019 when Yuvraj Singh had announced of retiring from cricket from all the formats of the game after remaining out of the Indian team for quite a while.

Yuvraj Singh has already sent a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking its permission to make a comeback in the domestic circuit. Yuvi would be guiding and mentoring the youngsters in the Punjab side and intends to play T20 cricket with the stateside in the upcoming tournaments.
Talking about his desire to return back to the game with Sportstar, Yuvraj Singh said that Punjab has given him so much that he wants to make every effort to make Punjab win the T20 title. He said:
“I and Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh) made every effort to help Punjab win a title. It was hard work for both of us but things did not work. I was also not motivated to continue playing and that prompted me to retire. Now I think one can make an earnest effort to help Punjab win the T20 title. The team has some awesome talent and I am looking forward to contributing,”
He further said that one can’t play cricket all their life but can play T20 till 45. He added:
“You can’t play cricket all your life but T20 is a brand you can play till 45. I will give myself one season and take a call. I will be a coach, mentor and a player. I want to do it for Punjab. It has given me so much,”

Recently, Yuvraj Singh’s manager, Jason Warne of W Sports & Media confirmed that Cricket Australia is interested in finding Yuvraj Singh a team in BBL. Reacting on the same, Yuvraj Singh said that he wants to concentrate on Punjab and wouldn’t mind if he doesn’t get to play in any foreign leagues. He said:
“I will obviously have to concentrate on Punjab. in any case, I can’t play the foreign leagues according to BCCI rules and I don’t mind it. My priority is to help Punjab,”
